My jobs is turning me into a water snob
I work at a reverse osmosis bottle water delivery company. I never used to think much about drinking water. The tap water in Alameda was great (EBMUD). And the well water at Star Gulch farms is pretty good too. But now when I drink something other than RO water it just tastes... "off". I had some tap water the other day and could distinctly smell the chlorine when I put it to my lips. Which is rather impressive since I have almost no sense of smell. Likewise the well water at the farm now tastes "heavy" and bitter.

PCT, Bro! PCT!!!
I REALLY like the rogue valley. So many people are excited to go hiking, kayaking, backpacking, etc. Everyone is very supportive and encouraging to anyone looking to break into a new activity. Which makes their attitude towards the Pacific Crest Trail that much more confusing. They are VERY competitive above it. "How far you gone on the PCT, bro?" "I've done the whole thing, TWICE!" "GASP!"
Go, Go, Karate Rangers!
Martial artists are always demonstrating their skill by punching through wooden boards or chopping a cinder-block in two. If they have this amazing ability, why don' they put it to good use? Instead of destroying perfectly good lumber they could be volunteering their time with a forest service trail crew and cut some wood that actually needs to be cut. Instead of smashing usable bricks they could help with the demolition of houses. Whats the deal?
